Firefighter:
$69,251.28 - $79,051.08 Annually
The principal function of an employee in this class is to respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, and other emergency and non-emergency situations. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of a Fire Captain, but some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Fire Captains and other Command Officers, other City employees, other emergency response providers, law enforcement related agencies, the news media, homeowners, business and community organizations, and the public. The principal duties of this class are performed in various emergency and non-emergency situations, including exposure to hazardous materials, large quantities of smoke, heavy traffic areas, intense heat, direct exposure to flames, decimated structures, extreme weather conditions, erratic and upset individuals, air-borne pathogens and blood-borne pathogens, and other related environments in which the employee is subject to personal danger.
Fleet Parts Worker:
$52,000.00 Annually
The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain the Vehicle Maintenance parts program and coordinate the City’s waste oil collection program. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are generally performed in a fleet maintenance and repair shop environment.
Water & Sewer Operator
$31.74 Hourly
The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of City lands, facilities, and infrastructure for the water/sewer division. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. An employee in this class may act as a lead worker over work crews as assigned. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoors environment with possible exposure to a variety of terrains, weather conditions, hazardous waste, and airborne pathogens.
