Job Summary:

Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to patients, fellow employees, and referrals sources through the coordination and administration of the facility’s “back and front office” activities. Ensure that the billing for all services provided is accurate, timely, fully documented and proper payments are received by Treasure State O&P.

 

Essential Functions:

· Obtain patient, billing and insurance information. Maintain current and accurate information in patient files and in the billing system and prepare forms or reports.

· Verify insurance eligibility of patients as needed and authorizations to determine if payer is at risk.

· Process new insurance policies, modifications to existing policies, and claims forms.

· Responsible for collecting payments/fees and preparing deposits. Depositing money in the bank.

· Coordinate communications with insurance companies to ensure accurate billing practices, enhance reimbursement opportunities and reduce denied claims. Includes correspondence with third party payor sources and referral sources.

· Responsible for maintaining updated data sheets on all insurance companies that TSOP bills.

· Working through and updating Accounts Receivable/Collection Activities.

· Data entry into billing system, posting payments and work closely with the Billing Coordinator.

· Insurance claim follow up.

· Provides counseling to patients advising them of their financial responsibility and obtaining credit agreements for outstanding balances.

· Coordinate patient charts and information to ensure timely service for TSOP patient and practitioners.

· Reviews practitioners’ documentation to ensure complete and appropriate billing/back office activities.

· Assist with all Medicare Account/Audit Activity

· Support front desk in answering and directing telephone calls.

· Assist with the administration of quality assurance programs to ensure patient satisfaction.

· Perform general clerical functions as necessary and must have working knowledge of all back and front desk duties
